🌿Listening to the Whispers of Change: Nurturing New Creative Seeds

Autumn has arrived in the Creston Valley with a soft hush — the kind that invites you to pause, breathe deeply, and listen. The mornings are cool now, the air fragrant with fallen leaves and damp earth. It’s a season that asks us to slow down and notice the beauty in both the letting go and the beginning again.
After a summer of rest and reflection — of tending my garden, listening to birdsong, and spending long afternoons surrounded by flowers — I find myself in that tender in-between space where inspiration stirs quietly. As I prepare my garden for its winter slumber, planting bulbs and moving perennials to new spots, I realize I’m doing the same kind of tending within my creative life.
“There are times when we stop, we sit still. We listen and breezes from a whole other world begin to whisper.” — James Carroll
For months now, a gentle whisper has been calling me toward a new direction — one rooted, as always, in nature, but branching outward in new ways. I’ve been feeling the pull to design art that finds its way into your homes not only as original paintings, but also as beautiful, useful creations for everyday living and gift giving — art that brightens, comforts, and uplifts.
I think of this as “planting creative seeds.” Some have been resting quietly, waiting for the right time to grow. Others have already begun to sprout. This fall feels like the moment to tend those ideas — to make space, to nurture them, and to see what blooms next.
“The richness I achieve comes from nature, the source of my inspiration.” — Claude Monet
Nature has always been my compass. Whether I’m sketching in the garden, admiring the fiery hues of maple leaves, or watching chickadees flutter through the branches, I’m reminded that every season has its purpose. The quiet work happening beneath the surface is what allows spring’s blossoms to flourish.
“Creativity, like a garden, needs time to rest, time to dream, and trust that the next bloom will come.” — Laura Leeder
Behind the scenes, I’ve been preparing the ground for this next chapter — updating my website, refining my shop categories, and moving to a new email platform that will allow me to share more of my process and upcoming designs with you. It feels like clearing the garden beds and enriching the soil — making room for new growth.
This fall, as I water the freshly planted bulbs and tidy the last of the garden beds, I’m reminded of the quiet joy that comes from nurturing what we love. I’m learning, once again, that change doesn’t have to be rushed; it can unfold with grace, like autumn itself.
“When we follow the gentle nudge of inspiration, we’re really listening to the language of our hearts.” — Laura Leeder
Thank you for following along on this journey — for being part of this season of renewal and discovery. I can’t wait to share more as these creative seeds begin to grow in the months ahead.
