Yellow daffodils, pink and purple tulips play host to a family of butterflies and a trio of playful birds that have taken refuge amongst the foliage of this spring garden. The words “best of spring” are just visible in the upper left corner. Look closely as there are other phrases to be discovered throughout the painting.

“The Garden Awakens”~ A delightful tour through my garden landscape
For the past 2 years I have been honing my signature style, working with new materials and painting specifically on wood panels. I’ve experimented and explored many techniques and methods always seeking to enhance my skills and artistic experience and to create a more joyful connection between the viewer and my work.
“You bring so much beauty to the world with your talent and sense of fun, thank you”, said one collector.
My newest collection of mixed media collage paintings are a result of this exploration. I pour myself into each piece planting moments of joy for the viewer to discover between each intricate layer. My process involves an initial layer of collage material. This is what I call planting "seeds of beauty and happiness". Using small pieces of paper torn from my favorite home decor magazines I collage these onto my wood panels. I select colorful images, floral patterns, and interesting words and phrases in fun and colorful fonts. The selected words, phrases and even quotes are about design, colour, gardening, lifestyle, and creating.
Some examples are artistic, everyday magic, beautiful, gardening for the soul, a collected home.
My newest series of mixed media paintings opens the heart to the delight resulting from an intimate connection with the outdoors and specifically to our garden landscapes and the many feathered friends that visit. I describe my art as “joyful and playful with just a touch elegance” .

Blue sky, colourful tulips, and a delicate pink groundcover attract the viewer into the painting. Two bluebirds are getting acquainted in the tulips, a dragonfly is hovering above them in greeting and even a tiger swallowtail has arrived on the scene to enjoy the company and the flowers. On closer inspection you will see several small butterflies playing amongst the leaves.
